In the world of premium electrical components, H&M has, for over 60 years, been about teamwork -working together towards a common goal - to meet the needs of our customers in the automotive and manufacturing sectors.
The internal sales team at the Port Elizabeth head office (Nadia Verhoog, Philile Nunwana, Ruen Vorster and Steven Nel) and at the Uitenhage branch (Nicky MacKenzie and Marius du Plessis ) are the face of our company. They are the first people you see when you visit Haslop & Mason.
We all know that first impressions count, and these members take their role in the team very seriously. As Ruen says, it's all about relationships. "By connecting closely with your customers, you learn their needs and requirements, and you become their first choice when they require something."
Turnaround is essential, so the team ensures that orders are sent out speedily for items that are not kept in-store. Maintaining a good working relationship with our suppliers at all times means Haslop & Mason is always aware of changes in prices and stock availability, to ensure procurement without a glitch.
In dealing with walk-in customers, telephonic clients, and e-mail orders, our internal sales team also keeps those relationships flourishing. Philile, who has been with the team for four years, says it is " an industry that never gets old," and that H&M "always makes it a point that we get trained to improve with the times and to grow in our knowledge in this career."
As true team players, the internal sales staff provide back-up for the external sales reps. If there are quotes to be prepared for clients while the reps are out, they step in. When the reps need help with follow-ups or urgent client orders, or when there are breakdowns, that's when this team shows the strength of their teamwork.
Ruen sums up his journey so far: "Haslop & Mason has helped me from not knowing anything about electrical, to where I am today." He loves the "friendly staff, job stability and the potential to grow in the company, always striving to be the Best in Business."
